About Us

Rick grew up in Southern California, chasing trains in Colton, San Bernardino and along Cajon Pass and Tehachapi with his best friend, Tim Dickinson. (See a video Tim's beautiful and inspiring Burlington Northern layout here).  Rick’s life-long love of model trains led him to purchase Tennessee Valley Custom Models in 2022. Now based in Maryland, TVCM is expanding, with new scale sign options for modelers of all scales. 

 We’ve even had to take on staff! Our Quality Control Inspector is involved in all aspects of the business, from production to marketing.
